A welcome offer’s largest number rarely tells you what a small deposit receives. For an A$20 or A$30 starting balance, the useful figures are the match percentage, the qualifying minimum and the conditions attached to the bonus. Compare those first; leave the headline maximum until later.
Calculate your actual match
A deposit match adds bonus credit calculated as a percentage of your qualifying deposit, up to a stated cap. A 100% match equals your deposit; a 150% match adds one and a half times that amount.
The calculation is straightforward: deposit × match percentage = bonus credit, subject to the cap. Your deposit and bonus may appear together in the balance, but bonus credit is not immediately withdrawable cash.
| Welcome offer | Bonus on A$20 | Bonus on A$30 |
|---|---|---|
| 100% match up to A$500 | A$20 | A$30 |
| 150% match up to A$150 | A$30 | A$45 |
| 200% match up to A$40 | A$40 | A$40 |
These calculations assume the deposit meets each offer’s minimum. At A$20, the 200% offer supplies the most bonus credit. At A$30, the 150% offer moves ahead because the 200% offer has already reached its A$40 cap. That makes the percentage and cap a pair: neither tells the full story alone.
Put the maximum in perspective
A 100% match up to A$500 requires an A$500 qualifying deposit to receive the full A$500 bonus. An A$20 deposit still receives A$20. The larger maximum does not increase the percentage applied to a smaller amount.
For a 150% match capped at A$150, the deposit needed to reach the cap is A$100: A$150 divided by 1.5. This calculation helps you identify which part of the promotion is relevant to your chosen deposit, without treating the maximum as a target.
Check the qualifying minimum
The cashier’s minimum deposit and the promotion’s minimum qualifying deposit can be different. A payment method might accept A$10 while the welcome offer requires A$25. In that case, depositing A$20 would fund the account but would not qualify for that offer.
- Find the minimum specifically stated in the welcome terms.
- Check whether your chosen payment method qualifies.
- Confirm whether you must enter a code or select the offer before paying.
- Check whether the offer applies only to the first deposit or across several deposits.
A package advertised across three deposits should be assessed one stage at a time. If you intend to deposit A$20 once, compare the credit and spins attached to that first A$20—not the combined package total.
Read wagering beside the percentage
A bigger match can come with a larger spending requirement. Wagering means the total qualifying stakes required under the bonus terms; it is not an amount you must deposit.
With an A$20 deposit and a 100% match, you receive A$20 in bonus credit. Wagering of 30 times the bonus means 30 × A$20 = A$600 in qualifying stakes. If the requirement instead covers deposit plus bonus, it becomes 30 × A$40 = A$1,200.
Now consider a 150% match on A$20: the bonus is A$30. At 30 times bonus-only wagering, the requirement is A$900. The extra A$10 of credit therefore adds A$300 in required qualifying stakes compared with the 100% offer under the same multiplier.
Check game contribution too. A game contributing 20% credits only A$2 towards wagering for every A$10 staked. Maximum qualifying stakes, excluded games and withdrawal conditions also matter. Extra bonus credit does not guarantee better results or completion of the requirements.
Give free spins a clear value
A spin count needs a stake value to become useful. Twenty spins at A$0.10 each provide A$2 in total spin stakes; 20 spins at A$0.20 provide A$4. Neither figure is a cash payment or a prediction of winnings.
Read where the spins can be used, when they arrive and what happens to any winnings. Spins released in daily batches are less flexible than a single allocation if you prefer one session. Their winnings may also carry separate wagering requirements or a conversion cap.
Check the clock before claiming
Look for separate deadlines to claim the offer, use the spins and complete wagering. A seven-day completion period is materially different from 30 days, even when the match percentage is identical. Confirm when each countdown begins and which time zone the terms use.
Keep the offer details and claim confirmation together so you can refer back to the amount, deadline and conditions. If anything conflicts between the promotion and the cashier, ask support to clarify it before depositing.
Compare the amount you will use
For each offer, write down six details: your chosen deposit, the bonus it earns, the qualifying minimum, the wagering calculation, the spin stake value and the expiry. Then compare offers at that same deposit amount.
For an A$20 starting deposit, a clear 100% match can be more practical than a larger package with additional deposit stages and short deadlines. Choose on the conditions attached to your actual amount—not on how impressive the full headline looks.
